The time that orthodontic treatment lasts can vary depending on the needs of each patient, but on average, it usually ranges between 12 and 24 months.
This period depends on the type of malocclusion, the patient’s age, and the orthodontic system chosen, such as Invisalign or braces.
From the first few months, you’ll start to notice changes in the alignment of your teeth.

For Invisalign: You will receive your custom aligners. We’ll explain how to use them and how to make regular changes (usually every 1-2 weeks).
For brackets: We proceed to place them in a comfortable and quick session, adjusting them to ensure proper fixation.
In both cases, we will give you tips on how to take care of your teeth during treatment.
Periodic reviews
Throughout treatment, we will schedule regular checkups (usually every 4-6 weeks). At these appointments, we check the progress of your dental correction, make adjustments to your brackets, or deliver the following aligners if you wear Invisalign. These check-ups are quick and essential to ensure that treatment is progressing as planned.
Retainer Placement
Once the ideal alignment of your teeth has been achieved, we remove the brackets or complete the use of aligners. To maintain the results, custom retainers (fixed or removable) are placed that will prevent the teeth from moving again.
